YLE: Russia re-opens its Arctic positions

Finnish broadcaster YLE reports that Russia is increasing its submarine patrolling of the Arctic Sea and the Northeast Passage due to the increased traffic on that route brought about by global warming. YLE writes that last week 10 warships, escorted by four nuclear-powered ice breakers, arrived on the New Siberian Islands (Wiki) off the north-eastern coast of Siberia.
