RIA: Finnish court returns son, held by father, to Russian mother, states Astakhov

Russian news agency RIA Novosti writes that a Finnish court has ordered the return of a seven-year-old boy from Murmansk to his Russian mother. The boy had gone to visit his Finnish father in Lapland on holiday in the spring.

Astakhov, Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, welcomed the decision, calling it a “routine precedent” in which Finnish justice had taken a positive decision on returning a child to Russia based on the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
